Gone But Not Forgotten

LOLA

Lola GBNF

My wife and I would just like to let you know that our beloved Lola that we adopted from your organisation back in July 2017 has passed away.

We collected her from Stoke on Trent and have enjoyed so many wonderful years together - she recently became very poorly with lung and liver conditions and passed away on Saturday 7th March with my wife in attendance at our local vets offices in Waddington Lincoln.

Lola had been a major part of our life every day since she joined the family home back in July 2017 and was featured in several of the CAESSR annual calendars over the years. At this stage we are both heartbroken at her loss and remember her fondly every day.

We would really like to be considered for adopting another cocker spaniel in the future - perhaps after a 6-9 month period once we have come to terms with the loss of Lola.

Kind regards

Frank & Beverley Finch

HECTOR

Hector GBNF

Dear Di and all at Caessr

We adopted our beloved cocker spaniel Hunter ( who we renamed Hector ) in 2018 when he was 17months old. He was such a unique character and was known around the village for being so friendly. We had our challenges with him as he would eat any thing and had bowel surgery a couple of times but that never put him off going to the vets - he loved going there and they loved him as well.

He has been such a big part of our family and adored by us and our grandchildren. Sadly in May he was diagnosed with lymphoma and although he had three different types of chemotherapy- he didn’t respond.

We were lucky we had a few more weeks with him than we thought we would but very sadly had to have limpet down on 11.11 2025.

We have a big hole in the family and home at the moment. Thank you for letting us adopt such a wonderful dog.

Kind regards

EDDIE

Eddie GBNF

Hi John and everyone at CAESSR

I am sorry to say that Eddie woke with a distended tummy this morning. After much exploration throughout the day, his scan found a burst liver tumour bleeding into his tummy. The vet told us there was no alternative but to put him to sleep. He went peacefully just before 5pm.

Eddie was the most beautiful energetic and happy boy. An absolute treasure who brought pleasure to so many. The soldiers I work with adored him. He will be sorely missed by many and most of all by Paul and me for he was a fast and furious ray of sunshine in our world.

Thank you for the gift of letting us adopt him.

RORY

Rory GBNF

Hi Ian

I am very sad to tell you that my dear CAESSR boy Rory has passed (24/6/25). I rescued him in February 2015 when he was just 6 months old.

We drove up from Devon on a very snowy day to collect him and he was such a good pup on the journey. He has loved a trip in the car ever since.

He loved best of all to put up pheasants and to eat! He was a one off character. He was just the best boy and my best pal for just over 10years.

Sadly he had cancer in his tummy and lungs which had spread very quickly so we had to make the sad decision to let him go.

I was with him as he slipped away and the very hardest thing I have ever had to do. I miss him so much.

I had not realised that you had a gone but not forgotten page and hope that Rory could be added.

We are going to scatter his ashes on 13th August on what would have been his 11th birthday. We will do this in the big field where he used to love putting up his favourite bird.

I hope you can add him to the page for us.

I have attached a picture.

warm regards

Jane (Brasier)

Hi,

I just thought I'd let you know that after 6 amazing years of fun and love from Max after getting him from yourselves, unfortunately we lost him to cancer a few weeks ago and we are heartbroken. Thankyou for giving us that chance to give Max the life he deserved.
