Spaniels that have found their new forever homes during this month

MERLIN

MERLIN

Enquiries are invited from those who have already completed CAESSR's full vetting process for Merlin.

Merlin has a full tail and is 18 months old. He is an English Springer Spaniel, liver & white and an absolutely wonderful dog. He has been surrendered through no fault of his own.

Merlin is toilet trained, travels well in the car when secured with a harness/seatbelt, and walks very well on a ‘figure of 8’ lead. He will walk at your side plus wait at the kerb before crossing, and even enjoys to jog alongside you.

He loves other dogs, but being an adolescent he is still learning to understand when the other dog has had enough of his bouncy nature. He has never been off lead, so currently has no recall. However, he will do most things for a treat or a ball so there is scope for him to learn. He is used to being allowed on furniture and will choose a dining chair over the floor! He is currently in foster and has already encountered a horse, a few noisy motorbikes, pheasants, and cats. He responded really well to them all.

He has had a vet check where he was as good as gold, and was given a clean bill of health. He is fully vaccinated and has had flea/wormer preventative.

We will not place Merlin in a home that has any unneutered bitches resident or visiting.

Merlin needs an experienced owner who is around most of the time (he is used to somebody being home full time). His new family need to have the time and patience to guide this strong adolescent and continue helping him reach his potential.

LOLA

LOLA

Lola is a chocolate and tan working cocker spaniel and is five years old. She has been surrendered due to a change in circumstances at home.

Lola is a lovely dog who needs continued training to improve her lead walking and listening skills! When she first came into our care she had some very tight matts in her fur that caused her some pain which we have addressed.

She is toilet trained and has had experience of living with another spaniel, and living a mix of indoors and outdoors.

She has not been tested with cats.

She is currently in a foster home with many other dogs and has fitted in well. She loves to be fussed and is happy to share with the other dogs.

Lola finds car travel a little over exciting and will require a crate to travel safely.

Do you have the drive to help Lola improve her lead walking and recall?
